friel is a professional proofreader, line editor, developmental editor and copyeditor. She gained a bachelor of english at the university of alberta and is a member of the editorial freelancers association. 

Friel grew up in canada, listening to her father read brothers grimm during the deep, dark winters. This was the beginning of her long standing love affair with ghost stories and hoarding translations of beowulf and anglo-saxon poetry. she considers editing a true passion, and she loves reading across all genres of literature. some of her favorite authors are virginia woolf. margaret atwood, michael ondaatje, holly black, leigh bardugo, haruki murakami, amy tan, and toni morrison. 


Megan is a writer and editor with over 10 years experience. She is currently the copy manager at Terrain and has recently begun freelancing as a developmental editor for indie novelists. Megan's past and current clients include 1st Dibs, Philadelphia Magazine, Time Out Philadelphia, Richmond Magazine. Brit + Co, and the University of Mary Washington.  

She is based in Philadelphia, PA and believes in the transformative power of a story, both for the writer and reader. Her favorite books are A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, Still Life by Sarah Winman, and Gilead by Marilynne Robinson.

Ellen schaefer is an artist and illustrator who specializes in pen & ink and watercolors. Her work is greatly inspired by the delicate details of everyday living, and she enjoys helping others bring their visions to life in a way that inspires mindfulness and connection.

she lives and works in fredericksburg, virginia with her husband, daughter and furry babies. 

Paige Kelly is an artist and graphic designer with 7 years of professional experience, and a lifetime of doodling experience.

She loves to incorporate her skills in classical oil painting and digital illustration to help her freelance clients' projects shine. Paige is also fascinated by the history of typography and printing and aims to incorporate beautiful, traditional elements with modern design. As a freelancer, she's worked on books and magazines including Holland Road by Caroline Kelly, Atlas Addict, Boston University publications, and SNAME publications.
